A New Years resolution for me is to write more on this blog. Not just for brands or sharing my knowledge on specific subjects but to really write from the heart. I miss that.
I have many plans already for 2018 and cannot wait to get into the new year. At the end of 2017, I started exercising again after a neck injury from March. I have been enjoying fitness more than ever and am going to try my hand at paddle boarding as soon as spring arrives. I am a terrible swimmer which gives me more incentive to stay balanced and focused. My local water sports centre do 30-minute sessions and even hire out wet suits too. I am really looking forward to trying it but have heard it takes quite a few sessions to learn to balance. I am quite happy doing weekly Bootcamp sessions so may try and add in an early morning swim rather than join a gym. As a full-time Mother and home Maker, there really is no time to drive to the gym every day but I believe that by starting the day with an early morning workout, it sets me up to take on any challenges that the week may bring.
I want to travel lots in 2028. We are restricted to school holidays of Course but if I was miraculously offered a job as a travel writer then I would homeschool my Daughter in an instant. In fact, if we were 100 % certain that we were not able to have another child then I would probably homeschool her anyway. There is so much to see and do out there in that big world.
I feel like I need a holiday with friends. I love my family of course, and all our free time is spent together because we enjoy each other’s company. However, it would be nice to have some me time and adult conversation for more than an hour over coffee. I want to have more evenings in the pub after school sipping wine and feeding our kids pub grub.
I want a whole summer in our garden with friends coming in and out. I want to host parties and barbecues and play music into the night. Last summer we enjoyed late nights through the summer with friends and neighbours meaning my Daughter had many late nights making memories with her pals.
And when the nights start to get darker again, I want to make the most of the end of summer by embracing Autumn with plenty of camping trips and evenings snuggled under the stars with the dog curled up at my feet.
Happy New year and best wishes for 2018.
