Our house is nestled in a small village located close to Woburn abbey. We have lots of spare patches in our garden and are very lucky to have acquired a compost heap! The nutrients our heap contains are so beneficial to our new allotment that we have started to create. We have learned from our neighbors that the best foods to grow in our area are potatoes and carrots.
We wanted this project to be an activity that the whole family could be involved in and was delighted to accept an invitation for an online gardening course with my garden school. We knew the basics but we’re excited to connect and obtain advice from other individuals.
We were to undertake an edible gardening course.
The course ran for a month and once signed up we were directed to our classroom where we would meet our tutor via video message.
Each week we had to complete an assignment and have it marked by our tutor. You can view assignments by your fellow online class mates and also post questions whenever you wanted.
I found that the online Tutor support was very efficient and we liked the fact that as a family we could log in as many times as we needed and catch up with notes and assignments.
Not only did the course teach us invaluable gardening info but it gave us time as a family to reconnect and start creating a new garden. We all spent many hours in our garden, digging, learning and planting.
I highly recommend a course from my garden school and can confirm it is beneficial for both amateur and experienced gardeners.
