November is on its way and last year i found a new love of sweet peas. The month of March was the first batch i started and i cared for them like the new babies they were!I grew them in rich potting soil and tended to them daily, eventually pruning their leaves when they started to show signs of growing. I neeeeeed spring to come early this year and am already longing for the garden to be full of color so therefore i am going to sew a batch of peas in pots for an early show.
By sewing seedlings early i am setting myself up for a really strong plant. Sweet peas are the ideal flower to grow if you love cut flowers as they just keep on giving, everytime you cut another grows which means a sweet aroma and fresh flowers for 6 months of the year.
All you need are small seed pots, some compost and sweet peas. If you visit the garden center this time of year seeds should be heavily reduced. I recommend “Heaven scent” if you like a fragranced flower which blooms in pastel colors. Amazing for a flower photographer, displaying at an English tea party or just using as a prop.
