Everybody likes a freebie right? And as a blogger I am lucky enough to receive my fair share of offerings from events (especially my Three year old) but my most memorable experience of a gifting lounge was the amazing stay I had at the W hotel in Hollywood on the weekend of the Oscars in 2011. I was fortunate enough to know a few big names (how life has changed!) and this particular one pulled out all the stops to get myself and a bunch of girlfriends two rooms for a few crazy nights of birthday celebrations. Although we had to check out on the actual day of the Oscars we still experienced West Hollywood in true star style. And waltzed through the gifting lounge provided for the stars like true Divas!
My Birthday weekend in Hollywood was spent eating at Beso, a restaurant owned by Eva Longoria and Milk and cookies with Wolfgang Puck.. the man himself! CRAZY!
7 Tips On Making Your Home Festive This Holiday Season
The most wonderful time of the year is on its way and it is time to decorate. Exciting! For those on a budget, here are some of the best and most affordable ways to transform your home into a festive wonderland.
DIY baubles
Glistening and patterned baubles can be expensive, especially when bought to decorate an entire tree. For a low cost alternative, choose a plain, clear glass bauble instead. They shouldn’t cost more than one pound and you can create your own unique designs. Remove the top and add a variety of fillings from wood chippings to artificial snow or even a peacock feather! These can be reused year after year, allowing you to empty and change the design or color scheme.
Dolly School
Dolls are never a toy that i acquired as a child. I came from a big family and actually spent most of my childhood playing in the street with the other local kids. Maybe that is why my Mum always assumed i was a tom boy? The options from being in the fresh air were endless. Tree climbing, fishing, football.
I honestly do not remember having toys in our house when i was small.
My Daughter on the other hand is a completely different character to what i obviously was.
Olivia loves to stay home and play. I have to literally force her out of the door most days for fresh air. And because she has four aunties, two sets of grandparents, a sister and close cousins she is very lucky to be given lots of lovely toys and have endless play mates. So i understand why she would rather stay home in the winter.
