Returning from our family holiday i instantly stepped foot in to the garden and it was visible to me as a novice gardener that the garden had not been tended to in a few weeks. The season had quickly swallowed up the array of summer color that had once partied on the grass and along the hedgerows. Autumn is here and there is so much to do in the garden before we pack up for winter.
So gather up the whole family and follow my tips below to keep the garden in shape over the winter period.
1. A winter uniform. The elements of the air have become much harsher and the texture of the grass is beginning to change. Moist at first until the ground starts to freeze over leaving a roughness to contend with. A gardening overall with well protected knee pads and a fitted fleece should provide much needed comfort and protection whilst clearing the yard. Gloves are also essential and modern gloves are now produced in a snug fit for smaller hands ladies!
