< As you know we have been talking about this transition for months. We tried it once and it went horribly wrong due to a fault with Olivia's cot bed. My little girl spent 3 nights sleeping on her mattress by the side of my bed. The company responsible for the delivery showed no remorse what so ever therefore we fixed her cot back together and decided to forget about the transition. So this time it had to be extra special. No false promises, no phoney companies, no cold conversations with sales reps. We found Worlds Apart. Olivia's favorite cartoon character featured on their site and all the accessories she would need to make her feel happy, safe and comfortable in a new bed. All extremely appealing but what really sealed the deal for me was the fact that Worlds Apart offer tips and advice on their website to help Mums handle this all important transition. Her Peppa pig nightlight from GoGlow has really helped us through the dark nights recently. Olivia no longer calls for during the night as she has her little torch for comfort. It is not too bright and charges very quickly. So here we are for the big reveal. Wish me luck and lets hope it all runs smoothly.
A few months ago I wrote a post and prepared my Daughter and myself for the transition from her cot to a big Girl bed. Due to some unforeseen circumstances involving a well known Parenting high street brand the transition did not go ahead leaving my Toddler very confused without a bed for several nights and a very stressed Mummy. We rebuilt her cot and continued to at least let my Daughter get back in to her old routine until we could get her a suitable bed.
If we were going to prepare my little girl for a second round of changing from the security of her cot to a bed it was going to have to be something extra extra special.
My little lady is nearly two now and i am beginning to think it may be time to transfer her to a toddler bed.
We already have a cot that is ready to convert.
On holiday recently i let her share our bed as she was so cramped and uncomfortable in a travel cot, even with lots of luxurious padding. Our Daughter is also now at the age where she is willing to go and spend a night away at her Nanny’s house or with one of her Aunties as she is very close to them and i would love a night off from Mummy hood. We travel a lot so really need to get this milestone under wraps before our next holiday!
I know i will need to purchase a bed rail and put a stair gate on her bedroom door but does anyone else have any tips or advice for me?
