Another season is here, my favourite of all and to celebrate I am sharing a Hearty Stew Recipe And An Autumn Table Setting. Read on to find out how I planned my tablescape for this table decor session and hopefully, the Autumn colours will inspire you to lay a similar table for your family or friends.
I have wandered through the garden this morning and collected veggies from the allotment, flowers from my Dahlia patch and cuttings from my newly planted blossom tree. This year, I feel as if all my hard work in the garden has really paid off. For the first time since moving into our farmhouse, I feel as though I am constantly rewarded by every season. And great news! our Daughter is back at school full time which leaves me a few extra minutes in the day to lay a sophisticated and inviting table for us adults. The slow cooker has warmed herself up and ready to cook a delicious feast for lunch.
Nothing excites me more than rooting through the crockery cupboard and matching plates and cutlery for a good meal. In this table setting, I have used a bowl for stew and wrapped it in a colourful cloth napkin. I love the orange bowl which has a serving handle and the napkin work so well with the colours of deep blue and specs of orange.
Here is a recipe for a vegetable stew that can be cooked in the slow cooker and served with chunky farmhouse bread. Go ahead and add a meat if you wish. If you are adding meat to the slow cooker then I advise to brown it off first and leave enough cooking time.
