With February nearing to the end, I thought I would share with you how to spring clean this month. By taking on small tasks, or a task at a time, this will leave more room for organisation and leave you feeling recharged for a new season. Follow my tips below to get Spring ready.
Declutter magazines and books.
Do old magazines take up seating areas in your home? Or has the overflowing pile of unused trash transformed into a recycled storage table for old mugs? I hear you, which is why I recommend recycling magazines and donating books to the charity shop. I recently decluttered by giving away a ton of cookery books, who needs paper when every recipe you have ever dreamed of can be found online? This will give you a much-needed boost when deciding how to spring clean this month
Throw out chipped crockery
Years back after moving into our first home, I rushed out to buy new mugs as I was so ashamed of the pity state of our current ones. How could one possibly offer a new neighbour a welcoming (good old English) cuppa from a broken cup? Are you a bit of a mug hoarder like myself? Change your habits today by tossing worn mugs out. The space you will save can be used to store other sundry items such as teabags or coffee.
Starting with your wardrobe. If you are desperate to spring clean this month, then take this task by the horns and donate any clothes that have not been worn in the last year, are stained, torn or simply do not fit. My resolution for 2018 was to start getting rid of items that we no longer needed or used. I set myself the task of tackling my Daughter’s wardrobe and rearranged the clothes that she would be needing for the current season. Wipe over switches
One you can thank me for later… any switches, light switches, socket switches, buttons, remote controls, telephones. Banish germs and get into a good routine whilst you spring clean this month. A simple antiseptic wipe should do the trick. You may enjoy another youtube video in my series on how to speed clean your bathroom!
Clear out your cleaning caddy
Where do you keep your cleaning products? Mine used to be stored here, there and everywhere but now I have upped my cleaning game and gotten myself super organised. This works for a ton of reasons, mainly saving me money on cleaning materials as I can see how much I have left but also for saving me time. With everything in one place, in a dedicated spot under the sink means that I can just grab and go.
I hope some of my tips help you along the path of spring cleaning your house over the next few months. Please check back soon and feel free to visit me on Instagram.
