Motivational Monday’s are a really good excuse to plan ahead and be ready for whatever the week has to throw at you. As a busy Mum and a full-time business woman I have to be ready to take on the transition from shrieking house wife to the savvy business owner and the only way I can pull this off easily is by wearing something that makes me feel good.
My full-time career as a stylist and gardening journalist means that I spend most of my days dressed in something comfy, usually topped with an apron or overcoat containing lots of pockets. I am always in need of somewhere to put my camera, styling props, seeds or other bits and bobs. I love to dress comfortably and shy away into the tranquil depths of my workshop but on the days I have to venture out and meet potential clients, it really is nice to dress the part.
My persona can totally transform by choosing staple items from my wardrobe to give me the confidence that I need to sell my services and seal a deal. It is a real treat to dress up like a grown up and leave the office to share my creativity. Lyst is a website which is not new to me, I have shared Lyst on My Model Mummy blog before and also on my travel blog as a directory for stunning cruise wear. Today I am sharing with my readers, the fashion essentials that I would choose to start off a busy week and introduce Motivational Monday’s.
I am in love with the velvet high waisted trousers featured in the above mood board. Teamed with a body suit, these trousers would be a comfortable fit, giving off a sophisticated feel.
Comfort is a crucial factor for me when choosing an outfit. I like a slim fit, and I like a high waist. High waist trousers give me a sense of security and hold the hem of a shirt well. I also benefit from a body suit underneath my garments, especially during the winter. Wearing a bodysuit means that a suit jacket over a shirt will be ample for warmth without the need for a heavy overcoat. I love shirts with a frill or some sort of statement. Typically I would stick to a black and white colour palate when meeting a client. In the winter months where there is no room for colour then I would introduce a brighter shade with a long coat or accessories such as a scarf.
The floral embroidered body suit from Topshop featured on the above mood board is currently reduced.
Saving the best until last, I would like to present a stunning selection of coats that I have sourced from the Lyst online shopping portal. If my choice of outfits so far has not encouraged you to join in with Motivational Monday’s so far than these over coats certainly will. Adding a splash of colour to a simple outfit is definitely a great way to boost confidence, lift your mood and get noticed. I adore so many of the styles featured on lyst at the moment and if you do visit the website then you will be spoilt for choice. Lyst offers items priced from high street stores to designer buys.
