This week I have had lots of fun styling a barn wedding. Luckily I had a few minutes to snap some of my arrangements and wanted to share some ideas and Inspiration on my blog. If you are thinking about getting married and have yet to set a theme, then I highly recommend using the same flowers and colour palette as this weeks bride. Sunflowers and Lavender set a smooth, country tone and the 16 the century Tudor barn was the perfect backdrop.
We planned to use a full palette for flower decor as a greeting statement for guests. A few weeks before the wedding I managed to salvage a smaller palette from my local garden centre and we used the A3 print for wording. The bride was very wise and laminated her sign, although we were very lucky with the weather for her special day. I used both statement flowers here and fillers, adding Ivy from the garden for a vintage effect.
The wedding isle was dressed with limewash chivari chairs and matching white seat pads, on each isle chair hung a sweet chalk washed love heart with a sprig of lavender or foliage and at the end of the isle was situated the marriage table.
The barn is such a beautiful building meaning delicately placed fairy lights around the barns solid oak beams to illuminate the setting were suffice. The lighting was ambient with the brides choice of soundtrack playing in the background. The marriage table was host to delicate vases wrapped in lace and hessian, filled with a mix of wild flowers in purple and blue hues. An oversized candle was a nice touch placed at the base of the table with a flickering(fake) flame wrapped in a mass of green ivy.
And finally, I would like to show you guys the beautiful naked cake that was chosen by the happy couple. I can only take credit for clothing the table and adding a little ivy around the wooded base.
The cake maker delivered the cake and dressed it before our eyes. Not only did it look visually pleasing but it tasted amazing too. I will leave you with a quick image I managed to snap on my phone. Thanks so much for stopping by today and if you are looking for further wedding inspo then you may like this post below.
