Started by New Covent Garden Flower Market in 2013, British Flowers Week is an annual celebration of the wealth and variety of British cut flowers and foliage.
We’re shining the spotlight on British flowers, working with independent florists and the wider flower industry to show what they’re made of.
My recent love for flowers is still a growing ambition and every growing season is still a learning curve. I take inspiration from florists and can spend hours online just browsing through bouquets put together with so much passion from the person that has grown them. It is no secret that most of the flowers on display today have been shipped in and grown by large commercial Dutch flower growers. How can they possibly be at their best after they have been through many transitions to reach our high street stores?
Thanks to British flowers week, the growing industry here in the Uk is looking brighter for people like myself. I am supporting British flower week by showcasing the flowers I have grown in my own garden and sharing my little but expertise knowledge.
I f you love all things floral then do click on the link i am providing and check out the British flowers week website.
The website is full of useful information, visual creativity and free downloadable content.
All the images you can see on this page are flowers that I have grown from seed in my own garden. photographs have not been enhanced in any way and have simply been uploaded from my camera. I am proud to provide events and my small selection of clients with such beauty and fresh locally grown flowers. I hope my post will inspire you to purchase your flowers from somewhere local and have a think about the journey they have been on.
From my loving hands to yours x
