My garden has been glorious this month and I wanted to show you how I’ve been creating flower arrangements for the season. All images are my own and all florals displayed have been grown in my garden.
A few years ago my Mum and I won some cornflower seeds at a local village fete. I wasn’t too interested in them at the time and slung them to the back of my seed box. I lost my Mum recently and vowed to grow lots of purples in the garden this year. Purple was her favorite color and after sewing the cornflower winnings I have been rewarded with a sea of multi-color cornflower. The wind bashed a few of them this week and I decided to create some effortless flower arrangements for the season with them.
My love of sweet peas is growing fonder each year and this week has seen my first batch bloom. I feel like they are a little delayed but then we do have a few naughty rabbits living on our land! They have had a nibble at my poppies that for sure. I have sweet peas growing up poles and in pots and borders. one set, in particular, i have growing indoors as they are the cut flower variety especially for a wedding I will be styling in July. Here are a few mixed in with other wild florals from the garden.
Finally, I have been enjoying my roses. The rose garden almost bloomed overnight and has given me a double dose of flowers compared to last year. I think I may have been too brutal when it came to trimming over the winter and have learned from my previous mistake. Here are some yellow Imogen roses mixed in with stray forget me not from the hedgerow. I tried to incorporate pastels from the vase in with my flower arrangement.
How has your gardening month been? Did you suffer any damage due to high winds?
Thanks for stopping by xx
