Using up blooms that are not quite finished yet can be really satisfying. Especially when it means getting some good family time in also and crafting with your little ones. We always have flowers in the house and various types of foliage so my Daughters little green fingers are already eager at the age of just Four.
This morning we used some flowers and had a crafting hour at breakfast time. We were up extra early after a great night’s sleep and pulled the curtains to let the light flow in through the morning mist. By using some plain paper mats, a small pair of scissors and an almost dried up bunch of flowers we made pretty pictures and shapes whilst having a lovely chat and munching away at our toast.
I decided to bend my sturdy stems into a wreath, Olivia however used her own imagination and made a giant flower garden lining her pieces up in a row. So sweet.
During our productive morning, I was inspired to bake a coconut loaf. This week I have started a new 21-day challenge and that is to cut out wheat, gluten and sugar. I am only on day two but really have not struggled yet. Assessing my diet, I do not really have that much sugar, I am not a great fan of bread and the only dairy I have is butter and eggs. Those I will not be giving up.
I made this recipe using Coconut flour and buckwheat flour. I sourced ingredients from Amazon but later found out you can get them in Tescos!
