Books are a huge part of our lives and i can still remember fondly the first book i ever bought home from school.
When Olivia was still in my tummy, family and friends flocked to my baby shower with gifts. The only thing we had asked for were books. Each guest were to bring a copy of their favorite childhood book. The books had messages inside and we still read them to this day.
Every evening we finish our day snuggled up reading a book together. Now my Daughter is Four she has started to read words herself. It is so rewarding knowing that i have given my child a fantastic head start by spending that quality time reading to her.
Her advent calendar this year was another bundle of Christmas books.
Random house sent us some lovely books to read and each one is appropriate for my Daughters advent book bag. Some even have stories behind them. This winter we have made the playhouse into a snug. Already we have been in there, reading and drinking hot chocolate whilst wrapped in Christmas blankets on the sofa.
As an end of school treat i wrapped the books and lit the playhouse for when Olivia finished her tennis lesson. She was so excited when she arrived home and could not wait to go inside!
Olivia looked at her books and was instantly drawn to “The fairytale hairdresser”. Of course at Four years old she loves anything to do with balls and gowns. We have read this book ALOT already and i just know it will be a favorite for 2017.
Next up was Alfie. We have lots of series from this collection including a vintage bumper book. We love to read individual stories from the special edition occasionally and plan to pass this collection onto our friends little baby boy who is also called Alfie!
And lastly a Beatrix Potter book in which we still have to delve our heads into. One of the series of book sets i was given at my baby shower were a set of original Beatrix Potter books. They will stay in our family forever now.
Thank you Brit Mums and Penguin Random House Childrens Books for Our Magical presents!
