In an ideal world we would all have mountains of space and gardens full of flowers but of course today’s world is not ideal and with careers, family and busy social lives we just about have time to roll into bed at night.
Here is a few tips on keeping your home cheery throughout the winter months.
Bring flowers in.
There may just be a few odds and ends lying around the garden or trimming the paving of your neighbors drive. Even sprouted in the hedges in surrounding fields and parks. November is here and it is cold and wet, we are due a frost soon so i say pick the rest of your blooms and bring them in. Display them on the kitchen window ledge or the middle of the dining room table. Any where that makes you happy.
Grow something inside
Have you ever grown anything from seed? check on your seed packets that you are planting at the right time of year and how to care for the particular seedling. It is so rewarding watching a flower grow.
Throw a party
Have a gathering and present with flowers. Floral arrangements always look so classy with candles. Looking for a hostess gift? Read here for more ideas!
Pot up a hardy evergreen
Heather is really bushy this time of year and comes in an array of Autumn colors. I bought two really nice plants recently and added them to my own indoor pots along with some fresh compost. My Daughter named them Ann and Alice! They really brighten up the room.
I hope you can find away to add some color to your home with plants throughout the winter months.
