This year my photography has really improved and I have thrown every ounce of passion I have into taking great images. Well images that I think are great anyway!
My videography has been noticed too. A few years ago I started filming clips on my iPhone and last Christmas shifted over to my first Olympus pen camera and filmed footage from that also. By February I had two Olympus pen cameras and various lenses which led me to , erm I don’t want to say teaching as my classes are self led so I will just use the word “creating” workshops in my garden at the start of spring. Having a spare camera with a wifi option enabled me to create and style pictures with friends and work colleagues meaning that they get to view and take their pictures home that same day.
My garden is full of props and scenic corners. Most importantly it is full of over flowered hanging baskets and cut flower beds. A huge advantage for photography workshops.
I filmed some promotional footage for wow toys which was fantastic fun for OLivia and her cousins and then just before the summer season I was approached to film a school choir. Such great fun.
But my biggest gig to date came just recently when I had to the opportunity to film a well known country singer. We filmed at the studio and this week I will be joining Lucie Diamond on location with my cameras and my lighting equipment to see what footage we can capture for an upcoming music video. I am very excited to be part of her returning venture.
So how do I travel with my portable camera set up? I use a caddy with deep holes and wide sections. My favorite being this particular caddy with a carry handle from Laura Ashley. My lights, charger and cameras fit in perfectly. There is also room for my tripod and it looks quite stylish when arriving at a class or the studio. I love the fact that everything is on display and at hand when needed rather than having to waste time and space rummaging through several bags. When I am out shooting on location and especially styling events, I always have an extra compartment to hold scissors, flowers or other much needed props.
The moral of this post is that a caddy is for so much more than just cleaning products!
