When Olivia’s new lunchbox arrived in the post i was overwhelmed with an emotion of happiness from a childhood memory that i was instantly reminded of.
I remember when i was at school in the late 80s and we all had sturdy square lunchboxes with our names on the bottom. Mine was a pale shade of well used pink with a faded my little pony picture on the front. Most people had the same, with the occasional lunchbox that stood out.
Now Olivia has a brand new box for the start of term at her new school in September. It was sent from Hartley’s and is a yellow box that she has decorated herself and carefully placed her name on in stickers. There was also two pots of sugar fee jelly inside which made a really nice treat to take with us camping the following day (the box is deep enough for a ice pack too) Yellow is our favorite color and i have a feeling she will not be losing her lunch box among the mountain of other lunch bags at school!
Jelly Pots are the perfect size for children’s lunchboxes, providing convenience and a wide range of flavors to keep the youngsters happy.
In store from July onwards, Hartley’s will offer consumers the chance to collect 12 special edition green lids from across the No Added Sugar Jelly Pots (115g), to claim a free Hartley’s lunchbox and stickers, which means you could get your very own lunchbox too.
So to help kick off the new school year i have decided to contribute some lunchbox ideas to ensure our kids are well on their way to a healthy lunch.
My top 5 lunchbox items are
A turkey wrap – meat is protein which will fuel olivia for the day.
Carrot sticks and Humus – A great way to get kids to eat vegetables is to offer a dip.
Baby tomatoes – counts as one of their five a day!
Cheese – Using bentos food picks i usually seved chopped in small cubes
Hartley’s Jelly pot – of course! Every kid needs a little treat.
Whichever occasion you are packing lunch boxes for we wish you a healthy meal.
