Being a parent to an only child means I have to have three different personas on any one day, I have to revert from Anna to Elsa as soon as the child demands and I have to be my girls best friend twenty four seven. I also have to act like her best friend, talk like one , play like one and sometimes even dress hideously like one just to keep her happy.
So my question to you is how do you entertain a child during the summer holidays and how do you manage to steal five minutes peace to yourself?
I would like to share some of my confessions as a parent.
We eat a lot. Never full meals but small finger foods throughout the day. I serve Olivia her food in picnic style portions so it takes longer for her to eat.
Another trick I have to keeping her entertained is to invite a playmate over for the day. I am happy to watch from afar as the kids play. Anyone that relieves me from character role play for an afternoon is a godsend.
We use our garden as a play area and I send Olivia in Easter egg hunts. Sometimes only hiding one treat. Oh I’m awful…..
I hope you enjoy our images from our much loved garden where we spend most of our time playing bare foot and wandering care free.
Enjoy the summer holidays and I hope we get some good weather
