With only a few months to go until our wedding party we are making the most of our babysitter (my sister) and taking as many child free mini moons as we can.
This weekend we hoped in the car and took a trip down the motorway for a relaxing 24 hours at The Mount Hotel in Tetternhall. As soon as we arrived the sun was shinning so naturally we headed to the champagne bar for some alcoholic beverages. Mark had a boutique beer (posh ale) whilst i had a glass of rose prosecco served in the cutest bottles! There was a wedding taking place in the main drawing room of the hotel and so it was nice to sit in the gardens and watch the bride and he cute flower girls whilst dreaming about my own celebrations coming up!
After drinks and a good catch up we decided to check out our accommodation. We stayed in room 83 which is the only apartment on the grounds. Our bedroom was immaculate and decorated to very high standards with a TV, dressing area, wardrobe and drawers. The bathroom was light and airy with the deepest tiled tub in the middle of the room. Perfect for me as i love a long soak! Our bathroom was a really great size and i thought the toiletries provided were a great touch. Something different to the usual hotel soaps and vanity kits.
we followed the stairs down into our apartment to a living area with leather sofas, an artisan coffee table and TV. Through another door was a kitchen with breakfast bar which was kitted out with everything we needed should we have decided to stay longer or book a self catering break. We know from previous reviews that my Husband likes a coffee in the morning so he was happy. And actually the apartment will be the perfect place to stay in the future with our little girl. But for the duration of the time we were here, the only finger lifting i intended to do was the champagne kind!
We had a really lovely evening, relaxing and enjoying our time together. It was a real treat to watch TV in bed without having to worry about waking the kids or walking the dog. My Husband and I were very comfortable and his newspaper was on the doorstep as promised when he woke in the morning. You can take a look around the apartment by clicking here
We headed over to the drawing room for breakfast and I was really excited to see what it looked like as it was occupied the evening before for a wedding. There was also a 50th birthday party happening in another function hall but the events did not affect our stay as we were situated on the hotel grounds rather than in the main hotel. The bar areas are very trendy and i can see why people would want to entertain at The Mount hotel.
So we entered the drawing room for breakfast and it was a bit busier than i would have preferred due to the functions. However the buffet breakfast was fresh and suitably displayed and the service was good. The Drawing room is absolutely beautiful and is the ultimate setting for a wedding. This week i have been catching up on my Downton Abbey series and for a moment i felt like Lady Mary patiently awaiting my morning coffee as my husband gathered our breakfast!!
Surrounded by full length windows, tassled curtains, stain glass windows and chandeliers, the drawing room was the perfect setting for breakfast to finish off our stay.
After breakfast we walked through the gardens once more, just a short stroll but with plenty to please the eye. again i thought about my Daughter and how she would love the secret hides and following the blossomed gravel paths.
So that concludes our stay at The Mount hotel in Tetternhall. We left feeling very relaxed and refreshed. The hotel is certainly popular for events due to housing the beautiful drawing room, trendy bar areas and even conference suites.
We found the staff very helpful and the breakfast that was included in our stay was fresh with a good buffet selection. The hotel was clean through out and has so many beautiful features.
I would love to see the gardens again in full bloom and visit to try the afternoon tea in the summer.
