It has been a while since I did a home improvement post and showed you around my house. Well spring is here and the curtains are open so come on in and see what I have been up to.
Halloween, Christmas and Easter have passed and we enjoyed decorating the dining room as a family. This is our main space where we eat, drink, laugh and share good times with our friends and family. By decorating our oak beam fireplace our family room comes alive and shows its purpose. It used to be an open fireplace before it was tiled and replaced with a wood burning stove. The original Oak beams were left untouched. We have no need to use the wood burner in the dining room as it always quite hot.
However we have another oak beam inglenook in our living room. This is my room and we use this log burner all the time in the winter. I never cover these beams as they add so much character to my living room. My living room needs little attention to details with the delights of our original wooden beams. We are lucky to have original features in our country house.
