My Three year old Olivia is signed with a really great talent/commercial agency. Her young acting career is something we take very lightly and will never put pressure upon her to perform. If a casting is too far or she has had an extremely busy week at school then we will usually decline the offer. However on this particular weekend Olivia had been given the opportunity to cast in a really lovely Christmas commercial. We were due to be in London the following day for an event so decided to spend the night in a hotel on the Strand between our two appointments. Leicester Square and Covent Garden.
On Friday afternoon we travelled to London on the train into London and caught the tube to Charing Cross. How I managed a Three year old, rucksack, case and buggy I do not know!! Olivia was really well behaved and already I can tell she is going to be travel savvy when she is older just like her Mummy.
We checked into our hotel The Strand Palace in the strand. After spending time there it is obvious that the hotel is not really child friendly, however it is a great London hotel and the food in the car very was splendid. After a quick wash and a change of clothes we took a eventful walk over to Leicester Square. Olivia’s casting was at spotlight studios and it was a great experience to cast in a London studio. There were quest of actors and actresses all waiting for their big break. Olivia’s casting went really well and we had a call today to say she had been shortlisted for a Christmas commercial. My sister was due to meet us after the casting so I took Olivia to the Hagen Dais cafe and had waffles and ice cream whilst we were waiting. After Meeting my Sister we had a really nice stroll into Covent Garden and just accidentally fell into the Disney store. More treats and we decided to head back to our hotel for dinner. We had a glass of wine and a really good catch up over a good meal whilst Olivia ate her dinner and caught up with an episode of Ben and Holly on the iPhone.
The next morning after a not so relaxing sleep we ate more food in the restaurant again and headed to pineapples studios in Covent Garden. I was so excited To experience the studios and always wanted to dance here as a grown woman. Seriously. Still do.
Today we would be attending a party to celebrate the launch of the Lalalopsy doll. There was dancing, face painting and a picnic lunch. We had a fantastic time. After the party we had a little mooch around the studios and saw the dancers in training in several different floors. It was a real treat to see.
After the party we met a family member for a quick coffee and headed down to the river to catch the water taxi along to Greenwich. We stopped for a few snaps on the way and I enjoyed a glass of wine on the journey. we were so lucky with the weather and the warmth from the sun was just right.
We walked for miles and talked for hours after stopping off for a family tradition dinner of pie and mash! Olivia finally drifted off in her buggy which meant we had some sister time to catch up and enjoy each other’s company. Olivia woke just in time for the boat ride back to the hotel and was nice and refreshed for our journey home.
My photos I am sharing are just raw unedited snaps from my iPhone.
I had forgotten how beautiful London looks at night.
When was the last time you got to enjoy the city?
