Today is a really exciting day for me. I am off to choose my wedding dress. I am so excited that I am preparing this post at 5.50am before my Daughter wakes up. This will be my third visit to the dress shop as having been there twice before has given me the opportunity to select and try on the gowns I love. I headed straight for the sparkly glamorous gowns but actually after trying them on I decided they weren’t to be my style after all.
This time I have decided on three different styles and I will be taking my maids along to help me make a decision. I am ninety percent certain that I have already found my dream dress and hopefully when I meet her again today I will be convinced that she is the gown that will swoon me down the isle!
I will be getting married in white but cannot give away too many details about my dress just In case prying eyes check out this weeks post. I am expecting waves of emotions as I meet my Fiancé at the altar on our big day.
I am literally so excited to play dress up with my maids today. I could spend hours in my chosen bridal shop as it really is a grown woman’s playground.
Later that day …..
When my maids arrived at my house we bundled in my car and headed off to the church. I wanted to show them the gorgeous church we will be marrying in and visualize the flower arrangements , hymns and readings. It is a beautiful grand church and we have decided that less is more in such a precious building. It is also known for a few celebrity weddings recently so the girls were excited to chat to one of the church wardens about that! We attend church most Sunday’s and I have to admit my mind does wander during the service as I am constantly thinking about our important day there.
We grabbed a taxi to the dress shop which is fairly local to my house. I love the fact my gown is so close! It really was a magical experience. I had three gowns to try on and they were all laid out for me. I was surrounded my crystal chandeliers, crowns and mirrors and we all drank champagne. This was a real Beverly Hills style fitting. We took pictures and giggled and tried on veils and tiaras. The girls knew which dress I was in love with as they instantly saw my emotions change. There were happy tears from my sister also.
So I chose my gown and paid my deposit.
I have a dress!! What a relief.
After the fitting we ate sushi and drank more wine. I filled them all in about the wedding plans I have been making and we spoke about color schemes. Everything has really fallen into place.
I am really pleased I made the decision to follow my own heart about the dress I chose and asked my maids along for the final decision.
Do you remember the day you chose your dress?
