We are very lucky to have storage space in the top of our house that has been converted into a loft room. The walls are blank and the carpet is fresh. The room is an odd shape – long and thin but South facing and so it catches the sun. It is one of the brightest rooms in the house and has two VELUX roof windows. We already have the blinds which we purchased online by simply taping in the measurements. I nearly opted for the Disney design but decided against it as my Daughter already has her own playroom. I want this space to be versatile for all of us!
We no longer need to use this room for storage as we had already invested in a shed for all the house bits including the Christmas tree! so we are thinking of making a place where the family can all come together. So far we have a little white sofa in there and our Daughters Tepe along with a big comfy floor cushion. We will invest in a television for watching DVDS and hope to have game nights using our WII and karaoke machine. Good job the room is hidden at the top of the house – i can see many girly nights spent up here in my secret hideaway!!
Although the room is long and thin, we still have around 20 foot of room to play with. Yes it is a long room! I was thinking of using one end of the room for my sewing projects. My Mother has given me a beautiful solid pine table to place my sewing machine on and i have an array of baskets filled with cotton thread and fabrics. A little organised corner for me to full fill my hobby would look really sweet.
I feel as if i need some inspiration. Does your family have a den? or a place where they come together besides the dinner table!
What treasures are in your den?
*As stated we already own VELUX blinds and chose to collaborate with the selected company that offers the Disney collection.*
