I always keep an eye out for traditional hand made wooden toys on our travels. The price for such beautiful trinkets always amazes me.
Look at these adorable pencils we purchased for our toddler at around 80 pence each. I adore them so much that I almost did not want to part with them!
We named them silly names and scribbled away. A precious purchase that will bring many happy memories.
We have handmade wooden toys from many parts of the world.
What do you like to collect on your travels?
I love postcards and kitsch things – I have a St Peters snowglobe for example!
Gorgeous wooden toys, I love the pencils so much! and what a bargain 🙂
I don;t really collect anything now but when I was little I used to collect printed erasers, I have a big box of them somewhere! xxx
I too love wooden toys and have bought a few things on my very limited travels.
Nothing as exotic as you but we always get a keyring and a fridge magnet (if available) that represents where we’ve been 🙂
Oh we do like the fridge magnets too! And a thimble for Mum! x
i don’t really collect thing unless taking lots of photos could be seen as collecting. I constantly have my phone to hand so I can snap away.
Photos are the best memoirs!
I love traditional wooden toys and these are just gorgeous! You should have bought some for you too! Lol x
I wish i had of bought a spare set for using!
Oh those crayons are gorgeous!
I tend to collect stones, shells, bits of driftwood etc.
I wouldn’t be able to resist those pencils though either, they’re lovely.
I don’t really collect anything but I do have some similar pieces from my travels to Russia. I loved my Russian dolls, paper mache spoons and lovely hair slides I bought from the locals.
We purchased some beautiful russian dolls and had them out at Christmas!
I love wooden toys, and think they must make great souvenirs – that’s a great idea you had! I don’t travel that much, but I’m all into the folk and would love to bring back some home decor – cushion covers, lamps, plates, mugs… I’m hoping to get some nice things in Pakistan really soon 😉
We collect Mugs to remember the places we visit. Then when I am having mu cuppa I can recall my holidays.
I don’t collect anything in particular but always keep an eye out for unusual birthday and Christmas presents for people. The pencils are gorgeous, I’d definitely buy some of those!
Im not really a collector anymore, but I do have one or two shells from the beach x
What a lovely thing to collect.
I collect Gecko ornaments from each of my holidays abroad. It’s a nice little momento of a great escape from the norm! x
My husband travels to Russia all the time but has never brought these back. I’m going to put in an order on his next visit. x
We tend to pick up a shell or a stone, when we toured Scotland we picked up some highland heather and brought that home. Those pencils are adorable though!
Oh those pencils are really beautiful and very affordable too, much better than some souvenir tat that we pay a lot more for. They’re very precious. L xx
I try not to collect anything. I really want to keep my home as minimalistic as possible. But I do have a fondness for art work and if I find something that means something to me personally, like a painting or a sculpture, I buy it. And then suffer because I was more stuff at home, lol
