Christmas was a blast in our house and as much as i adore the sparkly lights and decorations it was time to get the house back to normal for the new year.
Olivia accumulated lots of toys as usual and over the holidays they were all stored in the play room with the door firmly closed. I spent days sitting amongst bundles of new babies, cars and fancy dress outfits trying to decide where to store everything. I literally could not see the floor.
I had seen ideas for storing kids toys online and decided to take a trip to my local Ikea and check out what they had to offer. The children’s area offered plenty of solutions and as Olivia and her Daddy were playing with the many toys laid out to use i headed off for a browse on my own.
I eventually spotted the “Kallax” which is a shelving unit that comes in sections of four or eight. I had already picked up two Trofast plastic boxes that were on sale and quickly measured the spaces up. The boxes were a perfect compliment to the Kallax and not only had i found a fantastic solution, i had found a room divider also.
Olivia can access her toys from both angles of the unit and the boxes are light enough for her to move herself. My Hubby said it was super easy to build and he laid it horizontal for easy access and safety.
For now Olivia has a tidy playroom with toys stored in boxes. For now…..
