Just take a look at those gorgeous cupcakes. My little girl decorated those all on her own. She did.
I am all for messy and exploring senses etc etc but i really dislike seeing an uncontrollable maniac with a glue stick in her hand or even worst a glitter pot. And when its hers…. its hers.
Today we baked and i gave Olivia full control of the icing and toppings for the cakes. I did not shout, i did not interfere and i ignored the mess. It was really hard. But we did it and had a lovely time!
In normal blogging circumstances i would remove the best cakes, ice the beauties myself and pour a few sprinkles into Olivia’s hand to place neatly on the cakes. Over raised voices no doubt! Controlling huh?
Which brings me to the reason for this blog post.
2015 will see some changes to my writing style. And my parenting style (only when crafting).
You see, when i first started my blog i would update my Diary section on a monthly basis. That little space of my blog came to a halt in Feb this year as life just became a bit too busy for staying positive. My partner went through a very long winded divorce, Two of my sisters out of the Three have been very ill and i had the unfortunate experience of dealing with an internet troll. In July this year i also started my own business which is thriving but taking up a lot of the spare time i never had.
2015 is going to see a better blogging experience. I dont care if my pictures are not perfect or our cakes look like we have trodden on them. I dont really care if it disappears from Google search. My blog is a place for memories about our Daughter and her childhood. Picking up tips and advice from my readers is a bonus and sharing recipes or reviews with other Mums is a pleasure.
So take us as we are. And i think that is pretty perfect anyway xx
