I love make up, i love brightly colored make up, but i really really adore brightly colored, well presented in pretty packages make up.
Delilah is a brand new British brand launched in August by celebrity make up artist Mr Rupert Kingston.
Delilah has been launched in 15 locations, mostly spa’s and beauty salons because Rupert believes that specialist salons will be his best route to market. Therapists understand their clients skin and can recommend or advise the delilah range in the comfort and privacy of a salon.
The Delilah range is simple, parabin free and dermatologicaly tested.
I was cordially invited along to the Delilah launch at the Clinic in Tring, Hertfordshire to view the launch of the Delilah range and learn some great make up tips from Rupert himself.
Rupert advised leaving moisturiser to soak into your skin for a least four minutes before applying foundation primer. I squeezed a little liquid paste from the tube onto my skin and it felt soft, silky and light. Not at all clammy. Primer produces a barrier between make up and skin and will help your make up to stay put all day. Primer prevents your foundation from feeling heavy and also stops the skin from becoming too shiny.
A great tip Rupert offered when applying was to use a sensible brush. Preferably the Delilah buffing brush. The brush is made with synthetic bristles and can be washed with shampoo every 10 days. I learned that foundation should be matched along the jawline and not on the back of the hand like the made up dolls advise at all the major make up retailers in town! But this makes so much sense… Of… blood runs down to the hand making it slightly darker and the skin on your hands have suffered so much more from elements than your face. Rupert suggested foundations should contain a minimum of a SPF 20.
Next up we received a demonstration of the Delilah concealer. We were taught not to use foundation under the eyes but to use concealer instead – half a shade lighter to balance out the skin. If you take the concealer into the cheek bone it will make that area pop out. This is known as contouring. Cream concealer is fab for dark circles and the ingredients in this product of rose root and sugar beads will also control puffiness.
Next up Rupert applied loose powder to the models face by literally just sweeping effortlessly down the center of the face. This left her cheeks luminous. We were taught how to do some sculpting of the face with the Delilah bronzer and by applying bronzer under the cheek bone, a small amount on the temples and a dash along the hairline, your face will instantly appear slimmer.
And then out came the blush… my goodness the colors are certainly something to get excited about. You can see a sneak preview in the header photograph. They are just gorgeous i say! Coral is back and according to all the hottest magazines this color blush is very popular my fashionista sisters!
Delilah also stock a tempting bright pink blusher which suits a darker skin tone.
I could go on forever and recite the copious amounts of tips and advice that Rupert gave us on the launch of the wonderful Delilah range.
Head over to the Delilah cosmetics website and check out the luxurious collection or if you are local to Hertfordshire why not pop into The Clinic in Tring and view/buy the collection or items from there!
