We heart our local garden Center and it is a big part of our family life.
Our local Center is a place that brings our family together. We visit at least once a week for lunch in the cafe and an hours of fun in the soft play area with our toddler. I love to browse the plants and gifts and I love the fact that they have a different display for every season.
Christmas is my favorite time of year and in November the place goes through a mini refurb to bring it’s customers a tremendous display of Christmas festivities and decorations. Santa sets up home for the next six weeks and families flock to visit his grotto. This December we will be taking Olivia again to see Mr Claus. This particular visit will be very emotional for me as a Mummy because we will be closing a chapter of Olivia’s babyhood.
By the entrance of Santa’s magical land lays a small silver birch. Many mummies and toddlers visit this tree every year before they see Santa to say goodbye to their children’s dummies. Olivia is two now and it is time to pass on her dummies to the newborn babies at Christmas. We will proudly hang her dummies from the tree on a bit of string and tell Santa what a big girl she is now! Hopefully I will not endure too many sleepless nights and the transition will go smoothly. Right?!
The Christmas shop has already opened and we will be taking a trip to choose our decorations for the tree. Every year we each choose a decoration to hang from the tree. I have already seen the displays last week and I am not sure how I will control myself. I have plans to change the entire color scheme of Christmas in the Brandon house hold this year!!
