The Daniel department store teamed up with Galt Toys and Dr Miriam Stoppard to host an interactive play class, where Dr Miriam demonstrated the best sensory techniques to use when playing with your baby to help them reach vital development milestones.
Galt toys provided a great layout of their different toys with tons of informative advice from Dr Miriam herself.
As a Mummy to a toddler it felt great to be reassured that i have been putting her practice into use whilst enjoying play times with my child.
Dr Miriam suggests that an hour a day playtime is sufficient with our kids. But we must give our child/children our full attention. Tips included switching off phones/TVs and outside noise, getting down to our child’s level and always securing eye contacting when speaking to our child.
We have a toy room in our house and it has got to be my favorite room.
It is bright and warm and a place for us to gather as a family and play games or do puzzles. I believe doing this daily every evening before dinner has contributed towards our Daughters speech skills. At just 26 months old she can hold a full conversation!

When i was pregnant somebody gave me a copy of Dr Miriam Stoppard’s parenting manual. Never did i think i would enjoy an exclusive play date with Dr Stoppard herself.
