As i glide down the isle i cannot help but think about all the emotions rushing through my head. My stomach feels empty and i am so relieved that i am finally here.
If you are a regular reader of my blog you may have thought this post was about my wedding day. Wrong!
I have been selected as a Morrisons Mum which means i got sent eighty pounds worth of vouchers to spend on food for the bank holiday weekend.
I filled the trolley with meat, veg and fresh salad and we really did have a feast.
My family enjoyed a steak dinner, Mexican chicken and we even tried our hand at alfresco dining with spanish meats and cheeses.
So I did blow my budget by a couple of pounds but we are way past the bank holiday weekend and we are still eating! I whipped up a chicken dish for a friends party on Sunday. Two packs of chicken breasts for 7.50 fed a lot of adults! I added a packet mix of Mexican spices to the pot and served with rice. Went down a treat.
I have to admit that I was a little worried that I was about to put my trust in Morrisons and feed my family for a long bank holiday weekend. This was it and if the food was not fit for a king there would be no where else open!
I need not have worried as every meal tasted and looked great. Oh and the wine! Yes I did slip a cheeky bottle into my basket. Us busy mums deserve a tipple don’t we!?
As a family of fairly healthy eaters we do like to cook from scratch and I am so surprised that after a long weekend some of the veg I have left over still remains fresh.
So even if I was disappointed at the time that I blew our budget and spent slightly more than I would of liked I now realize that I have probably saved money and time by not needing to go food shopping again just yet! We are still going, still cooking and still eating!
I am struggling to find anything bad about my local Morrisons – I guess the staff were a little grumpy but then you would be if you had to work on a bank holiday weekend! The customers were not as friendly as my local farm shop but that’s strangers in this day and age for you and if I had to be really really really picky I would of liked a little more meat on the whole fresh chicken we purchased.
So our bank holiday was a fab well fed one thanks to Morrisons.
Mornings spent eating together as a family with cooked breakfasts, continental lunches and fancy date dinners! We also hosted a great meal for a surprise party and had left overs on top for tonight’s dinner!
