Am i a SAHM? Because i am never at home!
For those of you who are unaware of the above term it means “stay at home mum”
I do not physically go to an office job but i have commitments. I sponsor a radio show and have to put in the work to support my team, run a radio show, write a blog daily. Then there is the everyday task of being a Mum. Three meals a day, snacks in between, outings, getting dressed, playtime, bath time, bed time.
Oh and then there is a house to run. Laundry, ironing, housework, cooking and gardening.
So my last two days consisted of all these things and some me time on top. Me time means a lucky few hours when i can get a babysitter (thank god for mums and sisters) to get my things done. Its been a busy few days for me time – consisting of hosting a radio show, attending a business expedition, dentist for a filling and seeing the bank manager. Not very exciting at all but i had a few hours away from being a mum and getting stuff done for me.
The morel of this post is to never under estimate a SAHM. Just because she does not work does not mean she gets to sit around watching TV all day or playing on our phones. And when it gets to 6pm our day still hasn’t finished…. it never finishes. There is not even time for a hot soak after a long day.
I am angry to read so many posts about people working full time and thinking mums have it easy.
Give Mums a break.
Do you think it is easier to work full time or be a stay at home mum?
