Olivia does not get sweet treats that often as I have yet to find the right snack that offers the tastiness of a treat but without too much sugar. I have seen the Barny cakes in our local supermarket and pondered over them a few times but had yet to take the next step. I saw they have no artificial colors or preservatives.
Luckily I saw a giveaway on Britmums and was eager to apply for a free sample. So I knew what this package for Olivia was going to contain!
“Wow mumma” Wow being Olivia’s favorite word when she gets excited! There were two different flavors of Barny cakes. One with a strawberry center and one with an apple center. We have had the chocolate centered ones before and all loved them.
Daddy ran in to see what all the excitement was about and the three of us immediately opened the Barny sponge cakes and sampled. Olivia had a strawberry centered cake whilst Mummy and Daddy had an apple centered sponge. It was the first time Olivia has had a sweet snack that big all to herself and I will admit I was a little worried that by lunchtime she would be climbing the walls. But I needn’t have worried she was absolutely fine and normal.
We took a trip to our local nature reserve. We love coming here as a family and there is always something new to see as the seasons change.
We found wild flowers and a Bee hive in the nature garden. Daddy sneezed again and again. “Bless you” said Olivia. We then saw some old fossils on display in the learning hut. And we all had a look through the microscope at creepy crawlies.
After all that learning we were exhausted and needed to take a little break. We knew the perfect place to sit and have a rest and a snack. We made our way over to the wooden theater. We sat on a tree trunk and had our yummy Barny snacks with a nice drink of water.
We had a lovely family day.
A few days later we decided to share some Barney snacks with Olivia’s friends from playgroup. Barney had a great time and even joined in with messy play!
Thank you Barny for our yummy treats and you will definitely have a reserved place in our treat cupboard from now on!
“But Barny please help – mummy keeps taking my cake bars to her radio show and eating them all whilst talking about how delicious they are on her review show”
“Lucky for her she remembered to pack one in my lunch bag for my trip to Nanny’s house. ”
