We won a short break of 4 nights in a luxury lodge.
Admittedly the drive was a fair distance but we opted for the countryside route and an early departure. Being the unorganised mummy that I usually am I was worried about the accommodation – although we had done all our food shopping and loaded up the car I was worried about the lodge being toddler friendly. The worst feeling is being on holiday knowing that you cannot relax because your child is not safe.
On arrival we were directed to our lodge and bundled out of the car ready to unpack for our 4 day stay. I was secretly praying in my head that my partner would find the accommodation clean and comfortable as he is very fussy!
I gathered the toddler whilst the hubby took the first bag into the lodge. He bounced back to the car with a big smile on his face. Phew. It was going to be a good week.
The lodge had 2 bedrooms both with en suites. A huge living area with all kitchen facilities, a dining table and a TV area.
I was so relieved to find the lodge kitted out to meet our criteria. Stair gates, travel cot and a highchair. The kitchen had all the utensils and more needed to cater for my family. We took our dressing gowns and slippers and a big box of toys for Olivia. Best bit of all… yes bloggers…FREE WIFI!
Included in our package was a visit to the Land of the Elves. A 2 hour experience helping the elves prepare for Christmas. It was a lot of fun!
We explored the whole resort – by foot! Bluestone is very hilly and most people hire golf buggies to get around on. But we wanted to make the most of the fresh air.
There’s a swimming pool that has water slides and wave machines. There’s a small village in the middle of the resort with a pub, shops, bakery and a milk machine. Best invention ever.
There’s a huge indoor soft play are, archery, climbing in the woods, restaurants in the woods! We wanted to visit camp Smokey but because it was winter time the woods were too dark and we will save it for summer! There is so much to do at bluestone and we honestly had a really nice time. The resort was decorated for Christmas and the lights at night time were beautiful.
We are definitely booking for the summer and I could quite easily spend a week or more there.
Our lodge had 2 bedrooms but there is a lot of different sized accommodation available. We will be returning in the summer with more of our family members. I cannot wait to give everything a try and experience Bluestone Wales in a different season.
